Skye has been together and based in Eugene, Oregon, for over fourteen years. They have performed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, gaining a loyal following wherever they appear. While more often taking center stage, in their many years together Skye has also opened for such notable artists as Dougie MacLean, Solas, Natalie MacMaster, and Martin Hayes.
The band presents an exciting blend of vocal and instrumental pieces, many of them traditional, some of them arrangements of contemporary songs by other Celtic artists. Still, others are newly composed in a traditional style by members of the band. To every piece – whether traditional or newly composed – Skye imparts a fresh feel with imaginative, intricate, and energetic instrumental arrangements and compelling vocal harmonies.
While day jobs compete with studio time, fans might anticipate a CD release (with the new lineup) later this year.
